EDIT The Biohazard-sign is a warning symbol, to be placed on anything containing potentially harmful or infectuous biological waste.

EDIT The symbol was created in 1966 by the DOW Chemical Company employee Charles Baldwin. He used the distinctive shape of a triskele (triple spiral) in order to make the symbol instantly recognisable from all sides. Originally, the sign used to be bright orange-red. It's design was accompanied by marketing research that proved an extremely high level of recall.
