BEARBEITEN Et/Ըթ ist der achte Buchstabe des Armenischen Alphabets. Die älteste Form bestand aus einem und einem Querstrich auf der Grundlinie, der etwas breiter als der Bogen ausfällt und mit einem kleinen Haken endet. Im 10.-12. Jr. Wurde et breiter als die anderen Buchstaben und bekam einen erweiterten Querstrich. Die Minuskel entstand im 10. Jh. Der Buchstabe bekam eine Unterlänge mit dem „Kopf“ auf der Grundlinie.

Et/Ըթ steht für Schwa/Murmellaut und wird als [ə] ausgesprochen. Et/Ըթ ist der Schwächste Vokal des Alphabets.
